Why This Job

Handle the material that helps keep America Green at our Recycling Yard in North Austin and operate heavy equipment from a front end loader, excavator, and forklifts. You will learn to identify, inspect in-bound material and sort various metals that come in from  different construction and manufacturing facilities while helping to eliminate any hazards that are identified. 

What You'll Do

  • Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Grading and inspecting in-bound loads of material; to include making deductions in loads that have excess such as dirt, trash, and/or plastic
  • Looking for and eliminating hazards from in-coming loads prior to processing, including chemicals, flammable material and explosive items
  • Sort, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of materials as regulated by law
  • Keeping records of incoming loads, specific materials, customers' specific materials
  • Constantly perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipment
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Your Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
