What You'll Do
- Ensure the plant is operated safely and establish preventative practices to continue to improve the safety performance of the site. Build, lead, and promote a culture of safety.
- Ensure the plant is in full regulatory compliance with all local and government laws.
- Maintain positive relationships with all local authorities, regulatory agencies, and neighbourhood / communities in order to maximize the competitiveness of the site.
- Foster positive employee relations in order to attract, develop and retain high performance teams—focused on employee engagement, leadership development, performance alignment to CMC objectives, and change management for accountability.
- Ensure quality and delivery excellence with our customers to enable growth.
- Ensure compliance to all plant and product accreditations for the site and support new qualifications as appropriate for the growth of the business.
- Promote Six Sigma / Lean improvement processes in order to drive continuous improvement—focused on effective labor utilization, Operational Equipment Effectiveness, predictive maintenance, supplier development/control, and raw material efficiency.
- Employ a systematic and granular cost management process for measuring and taking action on the production variance measurement of spend versus earned absorption integrated with the weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual SIOP process.
- Organize and deploy a training & development methodology across the employee workforce to ensure operational flexibility and long-term succession planning.
- Promote best practices within the plant in order to improve the global manufacturing capability of the Company. Collaborate with Sales, Technology, Marketing and other manufacturing plants to exchange and implement these best practices.
- Develop site strategies that align with company and business line strategies
What You'll Need
- Minimum 10 years' experience performing in a continuous process environment, preferably in plastics processing, with at least 5 years in manufacturing leadership roles.
- Prior experience in successful implementation of lean manufacturing/5S and productivity improvement initiatives is required
- Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and then to use that to generate ideas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven change leader with experience in cultural and performance change
- Must have a bias for action and strong results orientation
- Must have well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively across multi-functional teams and cultures
Your Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- A degree in Science or Engineering (Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical) is strongly preferred
