What You'll Do

  • Build a training process foundation for current and entry level employees, with a focus on the finishing end equipment operators
  • Develop an onboarding process that would give rolling mill specific training, process overview, as well as job specific safety emphasis
  • Develop training matrix and tracking method for employee training
  • Instill finishing end employees with Quality related knowledge, translating to fewer customer complaints, rework/scrap, and process upsets
  • Help improve equipment reliability with operator focused routines to ensure equipment is operating efficiently
  • Manage inventory for tie wire, strapping material, and cold shear blades which would also involve purchase material to replenish
  • Verification for daily production and tag reconciliation
  • Hold Performance Reviews with employees and/or give feedback on employees performance
  • Hold employees accountable for results and effectively convey to associates what is expected of them

What You'll Need

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Must have critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Must have the ability to teach, train, and coach
  • Ability to supervise employees and set clear expectations
  • Ability to track, chart, and improve processes
  • Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs/ladders, work at heights, extreme heat, and wear respirator

Your Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required. Equivalent experience and skills can be a substituted for education.
