What You'll Do

Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference plans, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
Programming mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, proving part programs
Able to operate machinery (Manual Lathe, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Key Seater, surface grinder, CNC machines)
Must understand materials, cutting tools, tool speed and material feed rates, coolant requirements and machining techniques
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustment and repairs
Operate remote controlled overhead crane as needed

What You'll Need

5 years machinist experience required
Able to operate machinery (Manual Lathe, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Key Seater, surface grinder, CNC machines)
2 years experience as a CNC programmer programming with Mastercam
Ability to utilize precision measurement instruments
Experience reading blueprints required

Your Education

High School Diploma or GED required
Machinist certificate or equivalent experience
