What You'll Do

  • Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference plans, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
  • Programming mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, proving part programs
  • Able to operate machinery (Manual Lathe, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Key Seater, surface grinder, CNC machines)
  • Must understand materials, cutting tools, tool speed and material feed rates, coolant requirements and machining techniques
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustment and repairs
  • Operate remote controlled overhead crane as needed

What You'll Need

  • 5 years machinist experience required
  • Able to operate machinery (Manual Lathe, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Key Seater, surface grinder, CNC machines)
  • 2 years experience as a CNC programmer programming with Mastercam
  • Ability to utilize precision measurement instruments
  • Experience reading blueprints required

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Machinist certificate or equivalent experience
