What You'll Do
  • Maintain and operate tensile test machine and bending test apparatus to check conformity of rolled product to specification physical requirements
  • Record, verify and submit test results to insure product quality and mill certification integrity into CMC computer systems
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
  • Support nuclear program compliant quality management system, including 10 CFR Part 21
  • Communicate inspection results in real time to the proper supervisor
  • Perform tension test and enter test data into computer for Mill test reports
  • Sample bar product from the Rolling Mill cooling bed (hot) and/or cold shear locations
  • Use gas/oxygen cutting torches and various power equipment to proccess and test steel samples
  • Inspect bar products for surface and dimensional imperfections
  • Take accurate measurements of steel samples using scales, micrometers, depth gauges and calipers
  • Operate overhead crane, by remote, in support of Lab and Mill operation
  • Keep lab and working areas clean
What You'll Need
  • Capable to perform the physical requirements of the job (lift 35-50 lbs)
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekends and holiday
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment
  • Ability to read and operate measuring instruments
  • Ability to follow specified methods, procedures and processes
  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity which includes pulling, stooping and reaching
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Previous experience in working in a team environment preferred
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
