What You'll Do
- Support Area Safety Coordinators with development, implementation, follow up, and analysis of CMC safety programs
- Conduct monthly safety inspections; assign and track corrective actions
- Ensures all required safety training is completed, including new hire orientation, annual compliance, bi annual equipment certification, and site specific safeguards per CMC and OSHA
- Monitor training matrix; identify documentation gaps and upcoming training needs; assist with corrective action plans
- Guide management and Safety Committee on incident identification and reporting (near misses, property damage, first aid, OSHA recordables)
- Assist and monitor mobile equipment inspections and training (man lifts, cranes, forklifts, and yard trucks), contractor safety and liability insurance
- Advise facility management and Safety Committee on CMC safety policy and OSHA compliance
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual safety reports including statistics, participation, incident analysis, accomplishments, and issues
- Support incident investigations with detailed descriptions, corrective actions, and follow up verification
- Assist management and Safety Committee in developing initiatives to strengthen individual and facility wide safety culture
- Manage and develop a staff of 4 Areas Safety Coordinators
What You'll Need
- Preferred minimum 5 years of experience in a safety role
- Heavy industrial experience preferred
- Organized and action oriented
- Strong incident prevention and risk reduction skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication for training and program development
- Ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of basic industrial hygiene principles
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Effective presentation skills, including large groups
- Strong management skills focused on completion of tasks, delegation, and follow-up
Your Education
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field preferred, or equivalent experience is required
