What You'll Do
- Ensure proper weighing and recording of material purchased and transferred within the branch
- Ensure timely movement and sorting of the non-ferrous scrap
- Schedule maintenance activity of equipment assigned to non-ferrous yard
- Supervise and train non-ferrous yard employees
- Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations, minimizing the company’s exposure to adverse outcomes of complaints, litigation, audits and inspections
- Meets or exceeds monthly contract shipping goals and meet department KPI's
- Properly identifies wire by type and recoverary and its proper placement in the facility and properly identifies non-ferrous scrap and sorting into the non-ferrous yard
- Provides direct supervision of mobile equipment including grapple and forklifts and their operators and loaders, sorting and placement of the scrap and rejection of undesirable material and source control
- Provides guidance and direction to staff including hiring, disciplinary action, staff development, goal formulation and performance review
- Supervises the scheduling of outbound truck shipments
- Supervises, trains and cross-trains all employees so that they can safely perform their duties
- Monitor material quality, productivity of shredder
- Oversee and constantly communicate with other heavy equipment operators to ensure shredder feed is consistent and efficient
- Monitor all parts of shredder including conveyors, motor and operate within manufacturers recommended guidelines
- Recognize and be prepared to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues

Your Education
- A combination of formal education and/or directly related work experience may substitute for the degree.
- Preferred past successful experience in operations in metal recycling facility or other related industry
