Why This Job
The summer internship program at CMC Steel Oklahoma will provide you hands on experience in recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, performance management, and more! You will be able to apply the knowledge you've gained in college to special projects you are assigned while networking with other interns and employees at all levels including senior leadership. We will show you how a successful Fortune 500 steelmaking company operates, and the role HR plays in ensuring that organization's success.
What You'll Do
- Gain exposure to major HR processes and overall HR strategy
- Assist with HR processes by providing analysis and customer support
- Support the business strategy through managing and updating HR data, as well as project management work
- Assist with Talent Acquisition process for hourly employees
- Co-facilitate new hire orientation
- Assist HR Manager in facilitating a seamless new hire onboarding experience including pre-employment and orientation activities
- Exposure to employee relations, federal compliance, performance evaluations, and other important areas of human resources
- Support the HR team with ongoing employee questions
- Assist with general administrative tasks
What You'll Need
- Ability to prioritize requests effectively and understand importance and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates a passion for innovation and supportive of change
- Relevant coursework and/or projects preferred
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited university
