What You'll Do

  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Oversee production to ensure quality standards are met and assist the QC department in identifying root causes and eliminating identified issues
  • Manage, schedule and provide direction for day to day operations of the EAF
  • Develop and oversee training plan for all operational roles while providing succession plans at all levels of the organization
  • Assist in developing short term and long term production goals and capital requirements necessary to facilitate these objectives
  • Ensure that the business plan objectives for cost and tonnage projections are met
  • Responsible for working with various supervisors to insure the maintenance of all equipment with the goal of efficient and consistent operations of the melt shop operations
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of Melt Shop inventories while eliminating obsolete items, increasing turns and ensuring adequate availability
  • Ensure an environment of continuous improvement is maintained and work closely with other CMC counterparts to identify areas of improvement

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 5 years in a Melt Shop environment and detail knowledge in all departments and operations
  • Possess strong management skills with the ability to oversee Shift supervisors and hourly employees in a Non-Union environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
  • Must be people oriented a team builder and must work closely with the maintenance organization
  • Ability to work with the other Managers as a part of the Management Team
  • Must have the administrative abilities to create and oversee budgets and monthly spending
  • Have knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements and general melting industry best safety practices

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
