What You'll Do

  • Monitor and improve equipment uptime, availability, and reliability metrics
  • Ensure compliance with procedures via audit, including implementing programs for continuous improvement of product quality and process efficiency, applying relevant advanced statistical techniques to the analysis of test or process data
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects to reduce defects, improve throughput, and enhance product quality
  • Support troubleshooting activities related to rolling mill operations, product quality, and process stability
  • Collect data to support continuous improvement analysis and process implementations
  • Develop innovative solutions and best practices. Conduct equipment and process studies to support continuous improvement
  • Evaluate and improve safety, training, quality practices, and operational processes in hot rolling of long bar products
  • Maintain safe and reliable Rolling Mill systems while improving production rates, uptime efficiencies, yields, cost, and changeovers
  • Promote, mentor, and sustain quality standards and practices
  • Train and develop Mill Operators as needed, to include periodic shift work and to meet training and business objectives
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
  • Drive performance against KPIs including throughput, yield, downtime, quality, and cost
  • Focused on strategic goals and able to direct, control and co-ordinate activities towards areas which yield the highest long-term rewards for the organization
  • Monitor and analyze rolling mill process performance, including productivity, yield, quality, throughput, and equipment utilization
  • Responsible for working with various supervisors to insure the maintenance of all equipment with the goal of efficient and consistent operations of the Rolling Mill

What You'll Need

  • Understanding of rolling mill roll maintenance and pass design concepts
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of rolling mill processes and equipment
  • Ability to interpret production data, quality reports, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Heavy industrial experience preferred

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Preferred past successful experience in operations in metal recycling facility or other related industry
