Internship Details

CMC Steel Oklahoma is seeking students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's Occupational Health & Safety program for our 2022 Summer Internship Program. You will work alongside safety, production, maintenance, engineering and leadership to put your education to practice and build a career for yourself. You will be provided meaningful projects that not only develop you but leave a long standing impact to our overall steel making process. In all, you will walk away with experience in:


  • Cross-training through the Steel Mill process from billet to finished rebar
  • Job shadowing safety, production, environmental and leadership
  • Networking with fellow interns and business leaders
  • Meaningful assignments
  • Summer Project Presentation

What You'll Do


  • Work on assigned projects with the supervision of a mentor and supervisor
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of our health and safety program to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship
  • Partner directly with leaders in various departments to optimize site safety processes and implement effective corrective actions
  • Coach and train employees on health and safety requirements
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Program and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture

What You'll Need

  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work in teams and effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Able to work independently, take initiative and drive for results with minimal supervision
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess an interest in working in manufacturing safety
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA standards
