What You'll Do
  • Actively involved in promoting a successful Proactive Safety Measures program
  • Advise each Branch Manager on compliance with OSHA and CMC safety regulations and policies
  • Assist facility in development of corrective actions for identified hazard, to include but not limited to implementation, tracking and follow up
  • Assist, conduct and follow up of safety council meetings and monthly facility inspections
  • Collect, organize and analyze data to be able to spot trends, evaluate program effectiveness and propose initiatives
  • Communication of CMC Safety standards
  • Completion and filing of all required OSHA and insurance documentation (OSHA 300, OSHA 301 and First Report of Injury)
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation training
  • Conduct OSHA compliance training
  • Continually evaluate tasks to ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are up to date and implemented
  • Coordinate/facilitate all required employee training including but not limited to New Employee Safety Orientation, annual required re-training, forklift, material handler, overhead crane, and site specific equipment safeguards
  • Ensures Safety Programs are compliant (Injury Illness Prevention, Hazard Identification, Hazard Control and Correction, OSHA, CMC safety regulations, and policies and procedures)
  • Implementation of the employee-driven Safety Council
  • Identify areas of risk and hazards
  • Monitor, organize and administer OSHA and CMC documentation compliance
  • Monitor, organize and if necessary, administer required training and certifications for each branch employee
  • Monthly physical plant inspection
  • Motivate branch employees to follow safety culture through administration of a safety recognition program(s)
  • Prepare job specific safety plans for the customer, foreman, and project managers to include AHA’s, SDS’s, EAP, and CMC safety programs and policies
  • Responsible for corrective actions to include safety citations outlined in the CMC safety regulations
  • Visit job sites a majority of the time requiring field interaction with contractor and Ironworkers. Identify areas of risk and hazards
  • Serve as an advisor to Branch Safety Council members
What You'll Need
  • Ability to operate office equipment including fax machines, printers and communication devices
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
  • Required computer skills include word processing, spreadsheet functions and database up-keep
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
  • OSHA 30 Construction
  • OSHA 500/510 Preferred
