We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Business Analyst to join our FAB Process team to support one of CMC’s key lines of business – Construction Services. The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting technical business requirements, as well as providing valuable insights to support decision-making for construction related projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and feasibility within project constraints.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to business operations.
  • Interpret data findings and translate them into actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Propose and implement solutions to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance productivity.
  • Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirements documents, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure buy-in, resolve conflicts, and facilitate consensus on project deliverables.
  • Develop test plans and test cases to validate that solutions meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate feedback sessions to ensure solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and provide training and support to end users on new processes and systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Support project managers in project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities.
  • Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and assist in developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and marketing, to ensure alignment and integration of business processes and systems.
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating communication and understanding of requirements.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and business analysis tools/software.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is desirable.
  • Experience with the Infor FACTS system is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Familiarity with creating, tracking, and managing accounts, leads, and bids in Salesforce (or similar platform) is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to identify efficient solutions for equipment rental processes is highly desired, but not required.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional IT teams, while interfacing directly with the end-users from the Construction Services team.
  • Knowledge of construction related products is beneficial.

Your Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required
