About This Job

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking an industrial maintenance technician to support CMC Recycling Odessa, Texas. As part of the CMC team, the maintenance technician is responsible for continuous monitoring of all installed equipment and systems for proper operation, able to troubleshoot and identify equipment/system issue’s and implement safely predictive/preventive/corrective measures to ensure asset reliability. Interpret blueprints/schematics drawings, use hand/ power tools or special tools in support of maintaining machinery, equipment, and systems. With an uncontrolled climate this position's working conditions include exposure to heat and cold. This is an hourly position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM, some Saturdays and overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs.

What You'll Do
  • Services machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs on engines, hydraulics systems, mobile and stationary equipment
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs when needed
  • Perform all facets of the repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditions
  • Assists in removal of defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Fabricates parts by using machine shop instruments and equipment
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records of services and repairs
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 3 years of in-trade industrial heavy equipment maintenance experience
  • Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred
  • Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather
  • Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
