The SAP Controlling & Product Costing Lead is a key contributor and member of the IT Shared Services Team.  The SAP Lead will provide SAP support and deployment activities to the business and will be a key contributor to IT Cost Accounting configuration team. This person will be an expert in the SAP Controlling Module and the business processes that serves the specific business lines and functions.  The job requires a thorough understanding of end-to-end manufacturing process, product costing scenarios (e.g. Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock, Repetitive Manufacturing with Material Ledger and Actual Costing), Project Systems (Capex and Revenue Projects) and SAP CO configuration. This person will have a detailed level of functional and technical knowledge of Controlling (CO) module and integration with Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), Order to Cash (OTC), Project Systems (PS) and Profitability Analysis (COPA). What You'll Do

  • Gather requirements from business users for level 3 support work, approved projects and enhancements to existing SAP configuration or development objects
  • Performs design and writes specifications as needed for workflow, forms, reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements (WRICEF)
  • Performs unit tests and other tests as needed and works with end users on User Acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Work with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure, and Development teams to ensure business requirements are properly configured within SAP
  • Actively coaches team members on the software development lifecycle methodology
  • Follow processes that ensures cohesive and detailed program specifications
  • Create quality configuration and objects matching specifications, performs unit testing, creates appropriate documentation
  • Provide the appropriate level of support after implementation
  • Emphasizes and supports the need for continuous improvement through the use of proven methods such as Root Cause Analysis
  • Work with senior team members to perform quality reviews at the requirements, design and development phases and to pass stage gates
  • Partners with the business and other IT teams to provide innovative ideas to solve business or technological challenges
  • Provide 3rd level support to the end user community within the appropriate SAP application portfolio
  • Develop self with a broad knowledge of the application capabilities while also developing multiple areas of expertise
  • Support the deployment phases through knowledge transfer, global template configuration extension, new design configuration and appropriate documentation
  • Partner with the support and help desk team through knowledge transfer and “brain building” for speedy and consistent solutions for business users
  • Provide consistent progress/status reports to senior team members and lead

What You'll Need

  • Detailed knowledge of Controlling module including knowledge of discrete & repetitive manufacturing processes (e.g. make to stock & make to order)
  • Hands-on SAP experience including configuration experience in 2+ SAP implementation projects achieving production status
  • Minimum 12 years experience with SAP Controlling Modules (Product Costing, Project Systems and Profitability Analysis)
  • SAP S/4 HANA Finance and Controlling (FI-CO) certification preferred
  • Broad understanding of and experience with project management routines and disciplines
  • Understanding of at least two SAP areas and depth in many sub-areas
  • Familiar with all integration touch points in areas of expertise
  • Capable of being lead configurator across broad, complex and tightly integrated business processes
  • SAP Navigation and Configuration of Master Data within the IMG and developers workbench
  • Thorough understanding of project life-cycle tools such as Solution Manager, Quality Center and ChaRM
  • Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with the other Enterprise Application developers and peers
  • Commitment to provide process, business analysis and SAP configuration at the highest level
  • Capability to support a global template with standardized processes and continue to actively support the ongoing implementation and enhancement of SAP
  • Stay current on the latest SAP technology trends within the SAP development environments
  • Follow and support current documentation standards and change control methodologies
  • Ability to adapt and rapidly apply changing technology to business needs
  • Strong problem solving, debugging and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication Skills (verbal, written, listening) including ability to communicate effectively with all levels or organization
  • Ability to travel as required, including International travel

Your Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred), Engineering, or a related discipline.
