CMC is currently seeking an Financial Reporting Senior Analyst to provide SEC reporting and technical accounting support to the Company, under the direction of the Financial Reporting Manager and Technical Accounting Manager. This person will have high visibility from working multiple levels and functions within the organization to support the filing of periodic reports for a large, accelerated filer. What You'll Do
- Take a significant role in preparing the Company's quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy
- Assist in the completion of the US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists for all SEC filings
- Ensure that proper internal controls are performed and documented to support SOX compliance initiatives
- Special projects and other duties, as assigned
- Prepare clear and organized work papers that adequately support the company’s SEC filings and the internal/external audit process
- Detail review work performed by other team members, as well as respond to detail review comments from others
- Serve as a technical accounting resource for internal stakeholders by maintaining accounting policies, evaluating fixed and intangible assets for impairment, and providing guidance on complex or non-routine transactions
- Serve as liaison to the company’s external and internal auditors
- Assist in the research, evaluation, and implementation of new SEC disclosure requirements, accounting standards, and ASUs, including preparation of adoption analyses, impact assessments, and related disclosures
- Collaborate with SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team members to identify process improvements and opportunities for efficiencies
- Engage with cross-function teams (Legal, Tax, Treasury, etc.) to evaluate accounting implications of contracts, transactions, and strategic initiatives
What You'll Need
- 2+ yrs experience at Big 4 public accounting firm and exposure to SEC reporting, or relevant experience in SEC reporting at a public company. CPA preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, combined with the ability to research complex accounting and disclosure issues
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- SAP, BPC and Workiva experience is a plus, but not required
- Energetic and proactive individual capable of succeeding with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours to meet project deadlines
- Strong analytical, critical thinking & organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and implement process improvements
Your Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required
