CMC is currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to work with a collaborative team of tax professionals supporting a Fortune 500 company. What You'll Do

  • Assist with the extraction and manipulation of data from source systems using Alteryx, Excel, etc. to organize data into a more usable format
  • Assist with the simplification of complex spreadsheets and calculations using data analytics tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return using OneSource tax software, including all foreign reporting requirements
  • Assist 3rd party service provider in the preparation of the state income tax returns
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and year-end income tax provision (ASC 740)
  • Assist with state and federal income/franchise tax audits including responding to IDRs, notices, inquiries
  • Perform tax research, providing and documenting conclusions and tax positions
  • Help gather and validate information required for multi-state allocation and apportionment and state adjustments
  • Prepare income tax extensions and estimated tax payments
  • Other work related tasks / ad-hoc reporting as needed

What You'll Need

  • 2-4 years tax experience with private industry and/or public accounting
  • OneSource software experience a plus
  • Alteryx software experience preferred
  • Power BI software experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of Tax and US GAAP principles
  • Comfortable with tax research tools
  • Ability to gather, organize and analyze data
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Team player, detail oriented, and organized
  • Ability to work with minimal daily supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Your Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
