Welcome to a fantastic opportunity to work for an industry leading global steel manufacturer. With over 105 years in existence, this is a well-established, dynamic, and growing steel recycling, manufacturing, fabrication, and construction services company. While headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, this organization has operations across the globe. We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join us as a Jr. Systems Engineer for our Firewall/Internet Security team. This is an entry level position with growth potential.
What You'll Do
- Manage firewall environments whether on-prem or cloud according to CMC standards (Checkpoint, Meraki, Cisco)
- Fulfill request from CMC IT and Business customers for new and existing connectivity
- Produce reports and analysis as needed
- Follow change management procedures
- Develop a security mindset to understand the ever-growing landscape of threats
- Assist with management of tickets with technology support centers
- Visit data centers/remote sites to perform installations or troubleshooting of firewall and peripheral equipment as necessary
- Assist in management of proxy clients and software via management Consoles
- Assist with implementing new functionality as required and be eager to learn new technologies
- Learn to work and test in a lab environment
- Assist in creation of documentation of new and existing topology
What You'll Need
- 2 or more years of security or networking experience
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a positive manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with appropriate departments/individuals
- Ability to prioritize requests effectively and understand importance and meet deadlines
- Driven individual with honesty and integrity
Your Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field; or equivalent experience required.
