What You'll Do

  • Leads all department personnel in a professional manner toward achieving company performance goals with emphasis on safety, quality, and meeting all company standards
  • Direct all activities of the Area including accounting, shipping, receiving, operations, safety and environmental
  • Must be able to establish operational goals, both financial and non-financial, with clear work plans, and hold management staff accountable
  • Must collaborate and develop strong relationships with people to ensure successful accomplishments of plant and regional goals
  • Responsible for the planning of budgets, company assets, labor forecasts and capital expenditures for short-term and long-range production
  • Champion and ensure adherence to CMC’s Guiding Principles, Code of Conduct, Culture, and policies and procedures

What You'll Need

  • Ability to forecast short and long-term buying of material to meet on-time delivery schedules to our consumers
  • Ability to make sure all employees are trained and well prepared to carry out their daily tasks to ensure everyone's safety
  • Demonstrated ability to manufacture quality products that consistently meet or exceed consumer receiving specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of all areas of operations
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics is critical
  • Must be able collaborative, partnering with leaders to positively motivate team to achieve success
  • Must be able to control budgeted labor and overtime costs; as well as, maintain fiscal responsibility for all departments' budgets
  • Must be able to control inventory dollars by meeting inventory turn standards set forth by company
  • Must be able to maintain and be familiar with safety and environmental concerns
  • Past successful experience in operations, marketing, sales in a metal recycling facility or other related industry a strong plus
  • Preferred familiarity with material handling equipment and how to properly maintain (maintenance programs) and repair equipment
  • Shredder knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to problem-solve
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understands and executes CMC accounting policies, RONA, working capital, operating profit and Business strategies
  • Broad knowledge of marketing /sales practices
  • Ability to multitask and handle stress in a highly productive environment
  • Able to clearly communicate expectations, issues and feedback
  • Must be able to assist in problem solving in all areas of plant
