What You'll Do

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause
  • Perform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs and troubleshooting equipment problems in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Repair maintenance items identified during inspections
  • Typical repairs include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing components, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, cooling systems, gearboxes and various types of rotating assemblies
  • Read, interpret, and utilize manuals, drawings, and schematics
  • Ability to operate fork lift and overhead crane required
  • Ensure area is maintained to be clean and maintain a safe working environment
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Ability to adhere to CMC safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious industrial environment including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Identify and correct safety hazards, and practices and procedures
  • Provide support to the Respooler operations team during lunch breaks, shift changes, or when the team is short-staffed.
  • Assist with the operation of the Respooler as needed to maintain production flow and minimize downtime.
  • Utilize the SAP Maintenance Module to document maintenance activities, record corrective actions, order replacement parts, and account for time spent on tasks.
  • Monitor equipment performance trends, analyze maintenance data, and provide detailed reports to management regarding mechanical issues and resolutions.

What You'll Need

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable working in a multidiscipline environment
  • Technical skills: in depth understanding of machinery and maintenance techniques, ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and effectively.
  • Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills by performing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritizing work assignments
  • Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties, utilize computers to acquire information, documentation, account for time and corrective actions

Your Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
