What You'll Do
- Ensure safety programs are compliant (Injury Illness Prevention, Hazard Identification, Hazard Control and Correction, CMC safety regulations, policies and procedures)
- Assist, support and/or advise department management and first line supervision with respect to proper reporting and investigation of incidents to include but not limited to near miss, property damage, first aid, OSHA recordable injuries.
- Conducts on-site safety inspections to identify hazards and compliance with OSHA and CMCA safety programs
- Completion and filing of all required OSHA and insurance documentation (OSHA 300, OSHA 301 and First Report of Injury)
- Coordinate/facilitate required training including new employee orientation, annual required re-training, or site specific equipment safeguards
- Reporting of safety stats/reports to the manager to include: IR Rates, accident analysis, safety accomplishments, and outstanding safety issues
What You'll Need
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role
- Have knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements and general melting industry best safety practices
- Decision making abilities with excellent customer service in verbal and written communication
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint required. Web based safety management system experience is a plus.
Your Education
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field preferred, or equivalent experience is required
- OSHA 30 Construction
- OSHA 500/510 Preferred
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED designation a plus.
