What You'll Do

  • Actively participate and assist in leading team with CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture (Take 2, Observation Cards and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Own full-line maintenance responsibility for GalvaBar’s Tennessee operation, including equipment reliability, controls performance, utilities, support systems, and production asset uptime
  • Develop, implement, and manage a structured maintenance program focused on preventive and predictive maintenance, work order discipline, downtime tracking, root cause analysis, and critical spare parts planning
  • Lead electrical, PLC, controls, and mechanical troubleshooting efforts to reduce downtime, resolve repeat issues, and improve overall equipment effectiveness
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while setting clear expectations for safety, urgency, quality of work, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain a hands-on leadership presence in the plant and work directly with the maintenance team when needed to troubleshoot, repair, improve, or stabilize equipment performance
  • Communicate and coordinate with operations, engineering, safety, quality, purchasing, vendors, and contractors to support common goals and reliable plant performance
  • Manage maintenance labor, parts, contractor support, repair priorities, and maintenance spend to control cost while improving reliability and reducing operational risk
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained, equipped, and supported to perform work safely and effectively
  • Develop and maintain safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout, job safety analysis, contractor safety, standard work, and maintenance procedures

What You'll Need

  • Heavy industrial maintenance experience in steel, galvanizing, metals, manufacturing, or a similarly complex production environment preferred
  • Significant PLC and electrical troubleshooting experience required, including industrial controls, drives, motors, sensors, control panels, and production automation
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background required, including experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, material handling, and integrated production systems
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or developing a maintenance team required
  • Must be willing and able to work hands-on with the maintenance team when business needs require it
  • Experience developing maintenance programs, staffing maintenance teams, supporting plant start-up, or improving reliability systems preferred
  • Strong safety focus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMMS systems (SAP preferred)

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
