What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain training programs to keep personnel updated in inspection and test methods and quality standards
- Participate in CMC safety programs and actively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
- Provides insight on opportunities for process improvement and actively participates in improving existing processes and procedures
- Participate in plant 5S process and keep up housekeeping in your work area
- Perform in process and final inspection bridge components to comply with requirements
- Perform periodic inspections on process and procedures to ensure compliance
- Interpret drawings and make accurate assessments on product compliance
- Assist, as needed, in the creation, implementation, improvement of the quality management system., and management of ISO 9001 elements at Impact Metals
- Create, maintain, and audit procedures and Work Instructions
- Manage quality assurance audits
- Manage monitoring and measuring devices
- Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Convert between fractions and decimals, as well as metric and imperial (U.S. standard) measurements
What You'll Need
- Willingness to attain AWS CWI certification within 6 months of employment
- Ability to read, hand write and type in English at least to high school level
- At least 3 years experience in metal fabrication, inspection and testing
- Experience with welding processes, and equipment preferred
- Experience with development, preparation, qualification, and execution of welding procedure specifications (WPS’s) preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders and drawings
- Experience reading and interpreting project documents and drawings
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic arithmetic and using measuring devices
- Visual acuity to Jaeger 2 with or without corrected vision
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced continually changing environment
- Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to an objective decision maker and assertive to compliance
- Detail oriented
- Experience in quality control and/or inspection role preferred
- Experience and/or certification in NDT, ISO 9001, AISC, AWS D1.5, AWS D1.4, AWS D1.1 preferred
- Experience as a weld technician preferred
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and conducting internal audits preferred
- Solid math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 Year technical degree, certificate or comparable training preferred
