What You'll Do
- Oversee all refractory and mold setup operations for both merchant and rebar mills, including coordination of materials, equipment, and personnel
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure full compliance with the safety program
- Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping across work areas
- Develop, revise, and enforce standard operating procedures
- Conduct regular audits to ensure procedural compliance and effectiveness
- Prepare monthly performance reports, monitor material usage and costs, and verify related billing
- Plan and coordinate EAF relines and patching activities with production and maintenance teams, ensuring adequate materials and manpower
- Direct and supervise mill service contractors during tear-out operations
- Track Delta wear and collaborate with Maintenance to implement necessary adjustments
- Manage ladle rotation schedules and oversee repair activities
- Organize re-blocking and ladle tear-out operations
- Maintain communication with Maintenance regarding annual inspections of tundishes and ladles
- Lead improvement projects aimed at enhancing refractory and mold performance
What You'll Need
- Minimum 5 years of Refractory Experience
- Experience managing people and budgets
- Experience in Inventory Control
- Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Data entry in SAP/QMOS experience
- Ability to track, chart, and improve processes
Your Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
