What You'll Do
- Champion and ensure adherence to CMC’s Guiding Principles, Code of Conduct, Culture, and policies and procedures
- Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
- Supervise the production operators as they shear, bend, and load rebar to customer specifications
- Meet or exceed safety, production, quality, and inventory management targets set by management
- Set clear objectives and hold employees accountable
- Ensure and facilitate the training of new employees
- Ensure that business is conducted with the highest standards of quality and integrity
- Act as liaison between Senior Management and subordinate levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, and policies
- Assign daily work assignments to maximize shift operations Keep management abreast of disruptions or changes to output
- Assist in the development of employees including training, holding employees accountable and providing performance feedback to the Shift Supervisor
- Direct and ensure production reports are completed for each shift
- Ensure stock materials are received from loader and inspected for uniformity and attachment of inventory tags, SAP tags, and partial tags on open bundles
- Holding employees accountable and providing performance feedback to the Yard Supervisor
- Meet production quality, quantity, and safety standards on the shift
- Work alongside employees to shear and bend rebar, operate overhead crane and load/unload trailers with shipments
- Partner with the Safety Manager to direct safety meetings and ensures ongoing safety training for all shop employees
Other Things You'll Do
- Keep maintenance abreast of shop equipment deficiencies and breakage Troubleshoot production problems to minimize downtime
- Perform inspections of completed work for correct quantity, accurate fabrication, correctly tagged material, and scheduled delivery times
- Coordinate and supervise material receiving, documentation, storage, inventory control, disbursement and off-site shipping activities
What You'll Need
- Minimum 2 years experience as supervisor, preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in rebar shop operations, preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Your Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
