Central Purpose of Job

This individual performs preventive maintenance and routine building on guiding, and other mill equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Adhere to all CMC Steel AZ safety policies and procedures.
  • Clean and repair guide and QTB equipment.
  • Build and organize guides for upcoming product rolling’s.
  • Maintain and keep accurate inventories of all guide and QTB spare parts.
  • Keep accurate preventive maintenance records for work performed on equipment.
  • Fabricate mill components/equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in changeovers and resolving rolling mill upset conditions.

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Knowledge and Job Requirements

  • Ability to recall specifics, methods and processes.
  • Comprehend and apply analyzed procedures.
  • Ability to read engineered drawings and prints.
  • Exposure to both inside and outside weather conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Work rotating shifts which include weekends and holidays.

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
  • Ability to operate power tools and torches.
  • Must have an understanding of mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to build and set up mill equipment accurately using flowsheets.
  • Operate a computer for checking e-mail.
  • Ability to use welding equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use standard measuring instruments including tape measures, levels, micrometers and calipers.
  • Perform heavy work to include application of 100lbs of force occasionally and/or 50lbs of force frequently and/or 20lbs of force constantly.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Must be able to work well with others and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions given by supervisor and/or SOP’s.
  • Must be responsible and dependable.
  • Be respectful of co-workers and surroundings.
