About This Job
The individual supports the rolling mill department in accordance with all Company policies and standards with an emphasis on safety. The main focus of the individual will be to assist the mill team with producing a quality product. The Finishing Coordinator will be the go to person for all finished product quality concerns and procedures. This position is one of large responsibility and requires fortitude, knowledge, and confidence to perform in a satisfactory manner. ↵
What You'll Do
- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Ensure bundle count and bundle tagging accuracy
- Communicate and coordinate with Rolling Mill Manager, General Foreman, and Supervisors to sustain a quality finished product that meets or exceeds customer expectations and is sustained within ASTM specifications
- Verify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability activities
- Robotics experience is a plus
- Monitor data integrity through routine audits and data validation
- Prepare and maintain clear and organized documentation of each audit performed, including results of procedures, observations and conclusions
- Manage inventory for tie wire, strapping material, and cold shear blades which would also involve purchase material to replenish
- Continually evaluate tasks to ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are up to date and implemented
- Responsible for receiving, tracking, assessing and responding to customer complaints or issues
- Work with managers and employees to identify root cause of customer complaints and implement corrective actions
What You'll Need
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Some overtime will be required
- Minimum 1 year rolling mill experience in a hands-on environment
- Ability to recall specifics, methods, and processes
- Comprehends and apply standards and procedures
- Operates a computer proficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc)
- Ability to operate fork lift and overhead crane required
- Ability to use all measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, inside outside calipers, etc)
- Must be able to multi-task and follow through with tasks and direction given
- Must be able to work well with others and create a team atmosphere starting with safety
- Must be able to follow instructions given by supervisor or manager in timely and safe manner
- Must be respectful to others, responsible and dependable
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
