The Shift Supervisor is reponsible for supervising the liquid process in compliance with company policies and safety standards; ensures equipment functionality and coordinates with maintenance to resolve issues. The individual also serves as a subject matter expert to improve operational efficiency; contributes to liquid process projects; and leads a crew supporting these responsibilities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead pre-shift meeting to include safety topics, stretch exercises and daily plan
  • Assist in supervision of equipment and operator activities throughout the work day in the department assigned
  • Communicate daily activities through shift reports and/or morning meetings
  • Responsible for follow up on all daily pre-op equipment inspection for team
  • Recommend equipment, systems, and process ideas that support continuous improvements regarding safety, inventory accuracy, equipment preservation, and reduced non-value-added production times or conversion costs
  • Embodies and reinforces CMC's culture, Guiding Principles, Safety, and policies/procedures
  • Builds strong engagement within the team by effectively communicating the department's strategy and goals to the team
  • Holds team members accountable for their behavior and performance using performance management and development planning to consistently improve performance
  • Actively participate and assist in leading team with CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture (Take 2, Observation Cards and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Assist department to meet Quality and KPI goals and requirements
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
  • Support and conduct appropriate employee training and safety meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 2 years steel mill experience in a hands-on environment preferred
  • Ability to work in extreme heat
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 Suite, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and other related applications
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift

Your Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
