What You'll Do
  • Partner with internal customers to ensure requirements of purchased goods and services are met including price, quality reliability, delivery timelines and technical support
  • Supervise a team of buyers, which includes planning, directing and coordinating the activities of buyers
  • Assist team, as needed, in requisition/purchase order processing within SAP while also directly supporting a group of locations. Location support will include general PO processing and issue resolution by the Purchasing Supervisor
  • Lead or actively participate in sourcing opportunities including RFx process and contract negotiations resulting in cost-benefit opportunities for supplies and services
  • Supervise and process requests from accounts payable and other requests in a timely manner
What You'll Need
  • Understands business operations and needs
  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience required
  • Two years' supervisory experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP - ECC/SRM strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of purchasing process and best practices required
  • Ability to build interpersonal relationships and work through resources to accomplish objectives required
  • Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
  • Must have Intermediate skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc),
Your Education
  • Supply Chain certification(s) such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or similar a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in area of specialty preferred
