What You'll Do

    • Serve as a visible safety presence in shop and yard environments and provide guidance on safety‑related questions
    • Implement and support safety programs in accordance with company policies and applicable OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
    • Identify workplace hazards, document findings, and support operations in developing and completing corrective actions
    • Participate in safety committee meetings, toolbox talks, and shop‑level safety communications
    • Deliver and support safety training activities, including new hire safety orientation, refresher training, and safety communications
    • Conduct routine and as‑needed safety inspections across facilities using approved safety tools and applications (e.g., iAuditor)
    • Maintain organized safety documentation, inspection records, training records, and related reports
    • Assist with regulatory readiness activities, including internal audits, inspections, and documentation review
    • Provide monthly safety activity summaries and reporting updates to Operations and the Area Safety Manager
    • Coordinate injury management activities, first aid response, medical clinic visits, workers’ compensation reporting and communication
    • Participate in incident and near‑miss investigations, identify contributing factors and appropriate corrective actions
    • Assist with emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation awareness, drills, and response coordination as directed
    • Communicate identified safety trends, recurring issues, and areas of concern to the Area Safety Manager during routine reviews

    What You'll Need

    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a full‑time safety role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment
    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
    • Completion of OSHA 511 and OSHA 501 coursework
    • Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8 General Industry Safety Orders
    • Experience using safety management applications for inspections, reporting, and corrective action tracking
    • Ability to work independently across multiple facilities while effectively supporting operations and leadership
    • Knowledge of construction industry safety practices
    • Experience supporting fabrication, heavy industrial, or recycling operations
    • Experience participating in safety committees, training programs, and incident investigations
    • Certified Health & Safety Official (CHSO) – General Industry
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to travel as required

    Your Education

    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
    • Safety courses preferred
