What You'll Do
- Coordinate the set-up and inspection of casting machine and auxiliary equipment. Assist casting crew in operation or repairs as needed
- Ensures chemistry sample for laboratory testing is taken and proper casting temperatures are maintained
- Coordinate with melting area and other departments to minimize downtime and breakdowns to maximize production of quality products
- Inspect set up and make needed adjustments for aluminum wire feeder control when required
- Maintain a safety first attitude and hold the crew accountable for the same attitude and behavior
- Ensure that the crew is producing the best quality bar as possible
- Maintain a continuous focus on cost and ways to decrease waste and cost
What You'll Need
- Minimum 2 years department experience in a hands on environment
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Ability to operate fork lift and overhead crane required
- Ability to use measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, inside outside calipers, etc)
- Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
- Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
Your Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
- Associates Degree preferred
