What You'll Do
- Assist Utility Operator and Assistant Furnace Operator with the exchanging of electrodes
- Assist in tapping the heat from the furnace including making alloy additions to de-oxidize the heat
- Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks, refractory wear, and heel control)
- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
- Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
- Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed to equipment without the assistance of maintenance personnel
- Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
- Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
What You'll Need
- Work which may include weekends and holidays
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekend and holiday
- Must be able to lift at least fifty pounds

- High School Diploma or GED
