What You'll Do

  • Maintain drawings and documentation for plant systems and equipment
  • Assist with determining priorities in equipment replacement and scheduling
  • Responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities of capital projects
  • Develop detailed budgets and timelines and oversee cost tracking for capital improvements
  • Prepare and manage contracts to include writing scope of work, establishing contract packages, and interacting with contractors
  • Design Power Distribution Systems ranging from 24VDC to 250VDC and 120VAC Single Phase to 15kV 3 Phase
  • Design PLC systems and modifications including communication via ethernet, fiberoptics, and Modbus
  • Perform PLC programming and HMI modifications
  • Interact with technical engineers and non-technical operations personnel to integrate new technologies and update existing systems
  • Assist maintenance engineers and electricians with troubleshooting and commissioning activities
  • Must be able to work an on-call schedule

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical engineering experience
  • Understanding of 3 Phase Power Distribution Systems
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, instrumentation, plant communication networks, process computers and related equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical prints and diagrams
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical applications, electrical applications, and common industrial processes
  • Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2016 or later
  • Must be able to learn quickly, multitask and utilize time wisely
  • Strong background with technical writing to be able to write documents for operations and maintenance, explaining new or modified equipment
  • Experienced with field work and understanding the customer's needs
  • Ability to work within project scope and budget
  • Ability to lead a project from design through installation and start up, including associated operational and maintenance training
  • Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak, and understand English language in verbal and written communication.

Your Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
