What You'll Do

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining installed equipment and systems for proper operation
  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment issues and safely implement predictive, preventive, and corrective measures to ensure asset reliability
  • Effectively communicate equipment and system abnormalities
  • Installs HVAC and Electrical equipment
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 10 years of HVAC experience, or minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience in a heavy industrial setting
  • HVAC certification or a technical degree in HVAC and refrigeration
  • Understanding of Refrigeration and HVAC systems theories
  • Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration trade practices
  • Understanding of basic electrical theory of AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits up to 1000 volts
  • Knowledge of trouble shooting electrical circuits and the ability to use multi-meters and other basic electrical test equipment
  • Experience with refrigerant controls (metering devices) and motor controls (contractors, starters, relays, disconnects, thermostats, etc.)
  • Experience with electric motors, including three phase motors
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools such as a welder, torch, vacuum pump, and other test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of basic electrical safety in accordance with NFPA-70E
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces

  • High School Diploma or GED required
