What You'll Do

  • Promote safe work environments through example; good housekeeping & effective safety meetings
  • Ensure forklift and crane reports are completed each shift
  • Plan and attend required staffing and safety meetings
  • Plan maintenance work as well as work routinely with vendors
  • Communicate important shift information, production issues, concerns and needs with proper personnel
  • Plan out production for most efficient process of production line
  • Ensure cutting procedures are followed through performance audits and accurate training
  • Ensure rolls are cut to good quality standards to meet Rolling Mill needs
  • Work closely with Guide Shop and Rolling Mill personnel to ensure correct equipment is set up
  • Lead team in achieving department and company performance goals with emphasis on accuracy/quality and safety

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 1 year of roll turning (lathe) experience
  • Experience with programming lathe using Gibbscam and Edgecam software preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD to make adjustments and modifications to blueprints
  • Have basic understanding of steel grades, hardness and properties
  • Experience in Inventory Control
  • Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Data entry in SAP/QMOS experience
  • Ability to work with in project scope and budget
  • Experience with measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, inside outside calipers, etc)

Your Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
