In this role, using your deep technical and environmental management background, you will report to the Director of Environmental and will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of centralized aspects of current and future environmental programs, systems and processes.  This includes internal and external reporting and analysis, management systems, regulatory compliance, rulemaking and guidance interpretation, engagement and integration as well as project management of key initiatives utilizing your proven skills in creating and being effective in cross functional and business unit teams. 

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage existing environmental software including analysis, reporting and ongoing continuous improvement such as identifying, scoping, recommending, and implementing enhancement software as appropriate
  • Evaluate, implement, and provide ongoing management of ISO 14001 program oversight (reporting, auditing, etc.) at identified facilities
  • Manage existing data collection processes as well as ongoing continuous improvement of data collection, analysis, and support procedures for environmental ESG data
  • Collaborate closely with Sustainability Manager as well as cross functional and business unit teams to identify, recommend and support implementation of projects and process to achieve company ESG goals
  • Manage, analyze for ongoing continuous improvement/standardization and rule change integration/implementation for common regulatory reporting and training programs (e.g. TRI, EPCRA Tier II, CAA, RCRA, NPDES, TSCA, etc.)
  • Evaluate proposed rules and guidance for requirements/impact, engage in advocacy and assist in rollout implementation for affected facilities
  • Manage and coordinate compliance audit programs
  • Develop, strong, effective and efficient relationships with trade organizations to benchmark relevant aspects of responsibilities as well as support key company and industry initiatives, rulemaking engagement and legislative efforts
  • Coordinate and assist with M&A diligence work and integration
  • Identify, engage and manage outside consultants, contractors, and other resources as appropriate
  • Manage and implement other key projects/initiatives as identified utilizing your proven project management experience in cross functional and business unit teams

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years related experience and knowledge of environmental management, consulting or similar (minimum of 5+ in heavy industry) with strong and broad understanding of environmental laws and related regulations and reporting
  • Project management experience, including the ability to plan and execute interdepartmental projects in a collaborative manner to gain full acceptance and implementation of long-term programs
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing large scale companywide management systems such as ISO14001 and or environmental accounting software
  • Strong understanding and experience with data management and analytics as well as the ability to synthesize information into clear insights and conclusions
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, with occasional overnight travel required

Your Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Biology, Engineering or equivalent experience required
