What You'll Do
- Repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, body repair and replacing parts and components
- Services machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs on engines, hydraulics systems, mobile and stationary equipment
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, and adjusting controls and systems
- Operates and trobuleshoots issues with mobile equipment: loaders, forklifts, trucks and other equipment
- Operate mobile equipment: loaders, forklifts, trucks and other equipment to troubleshoot
- Operate a forklift, truck and trailer
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
- Comply with DOT and state inspection requirements
What You'll Need
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification
- Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling
- Experience with a wide variety of tools related to mechanics/hydraulics
- Experience with basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, engines, mobile equipment, and vehicles (number of years up to location preference)
- Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
- Fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmissions equipment, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatics, lubrication, and fluid pumping systems
- Minimum 2 years of in-trade industrial heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Must be able to provide own tools
- Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather
- Possess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance process
- Possess specific knowledge of both diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
- Valid drivers license
- Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills
